The Pensacola Junior College student culinary team received a bronze medal at the R. L. Schreiber Apprentice/Junior Member Florida State Championship Team Skills Competition in Orlando Sept 7.
The annual event is held in conjunction with the National Restaurant Association's Food Show at the OrlandoConvention Center. This year, 12 teams competed.
The PJC team: James Allen Jr., team captain; Kimberly Rigel; Sean Higgins; Chris Rivait; and John J. Smith, alternate.
Chef Travis Herr is director of PJC's culinary program, and Jan Vantrease is the program's culinary technician.
